There’s something else, something they might not even be fully aware of themselves. The real quiet part is that if it was *their* child or *their* ectopic pregnancy they’d pull out all the stops to save their life or get their grandchild aborted. Planned Parenthood sees reactionaries and regressives all the time, and they are every bit the nightmare patients you’d imagine them to be. But the one thing all those patients have in common is that *their* abortion is *justified*, and the next week they’ll be outside the clinic again, rejoining the protestors for “killing their baby”.
It’d be one thing to have ghoulish principles, but the far-right have none at all.
When I was younger and had more time to waste on the internet, and spent a lot of time in various online forums getting into arguments – on purpose – I made up a game I called Six Degrees of Slut.
The game (which is a variation on the well known Six Degrees of Bacon) was very simple. In any discussion of abortion, see whether you could get the other side to articulate, within six back-and-forth exchanges, some variation of The Filthy Sluts Must Be Punished. Regardless of where their argument started, the goal of the game was to get them to admit that.
I never once lost a game of Six Degrees of Slut. On a few occasions the match was inconclusive - the other person left off arguing before we reached round six - but I never lost; I never once reached six rounds of debate with a prolifer without them expressing some variation on this sentiment. But what was really remarkable to me was, a lot of times, that there was no effort involved at all – they would blurt it out themselves, with effectively no provocation.
Scratch a prolifer, and you’ll find right under the surface the conviction that The Filthy Sluts Must Be Punished. I have never once yet found an exception. Sometimes you don’t even have to scratch.

Actually, I totally have something to add to this.
So walking home from work yesterday, I passed a girl scout and her big sis selling girl guide cookies, and I was like: Score! I just got kickback money, so for once I have money on hand, and they never come to my house!
As I’m walking up, I hear the person at the door they’re currently at …let’s say he was berating the poor girl for being brown.
So when he slams the door, the little one just turns to her sis and cheerfully says something like ‘That’s another one for the list. I think he’s at least a two!’
And I’m already behind her at this point with my $10 out for two boxes of thin mints, and she’s all like ‘ah thanks!’, and I ask “What’s this list …?”
“My big sister is keeping a list here of racist fucks and she’s going to break their windows and stuff on halloween!”.
Anyways, girl scouts are precious little angels.

hey, does anyone have any arospec youtuber suggestions? i find videos made by people like me helpful, but i don’t think i can handle the results that might come up just from searching “aromantic” on youtube right now.
i just want to hear other people’s experiences in video form and in general support any aro creators that might be on there!!
Okay. So when I was initially questioning if I was aro, I would look at almost every aro video on youtube that I could find. This is what I found, plus some that I came across more recently. (Means I haven’t watched all of these creators/videos… but most. Whoops.)
Youtubers that have more than one video about being aromantic on their channel:
Nik Hampshire: He has a video series about being aroallo
Lynn Saga: Lynn is alloace but they have some aromantic-themed videos on their channel, including ones that feature their aroallo sibling and their experiences
OfficiallyDevinity: She has I think three videos about being aro on her channel
Spacey Aces: A group of three people, all ace, some aro. Mostly ace content but a few aro videos as well
Alice Aro: Most aro videos of her are actually meme reactions I think
Celeste M: This aro(ace?) creator has two or three aromantic videos on their channel, including one about their platonic marriage
Samantha Aimee: A vlogger doing lots of different stuff and also talking about being aroace occasionally
Clara Dehlin: She has only three videos, all of them are about being aroace
bmud angel: Another very small aroace creator with two or three aro videos

David J Bradley: They are aroace. At a quick glance, most of their videos appear to be about asexuality, but it looks like they have at least one which is more focused on aromanticism based on their thumbnails. They mostly appear to make videos about different media.
Alpharad: His videos are mostly gaming, with next to no content about his queer experiences, if that’s what you’re looking for. I only included him because he said in a video a little over a month ago that he’s aro and on the ace spec.
Zoe Stoller: They have a video where they talk about being demisexual and demiromantic. According to their channel description, they mostly focus on LGBTQ education.
